Michael Freed is an American English teacher and polyglot, composer, and jazz musician. He is known in the community as an American who speaks Russian and teaches English. His lifetime passion and love has been sound, thought, and how it communicates, whether through music or language.

Michael has been a student of language since he first learned to speak Spanish in Elementary School. Then, at High School graduation he was awarded the Language Premia for excellence in Spanish, French, and German. At age 15, he lived and studied Renaissance Mexican poetry at the University of Jaime Balmes in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Before going to college, he traveled with his band, playing and singing his own music-blues and rock across the country. After travelling the country with his music, he returned to receive a formal university education in European languages.

Michael taught Spanish, French, and German at the prestigious Hun School of Princeton, in Princeton, New Jersey. He then moved to Paris, where he worked as a simultaneous translator for several years.

A constant student of new languages, Michael taught himself Russian after he developed a passion for Russian literature and wanted to read it in the original. This is when he first started to develop his own method, the method he now uses to teach English to speakers of Slavic languages.

Since 1998, Michael has been living in the Northeast Philadelphia community. For over 17 years, his teaching positions have included The New World Association, ASAP School, and EIS School In addition he continues to offer private English lessons.

To enable fast language learning, he developed a method which makes use of linguistic algorithms to learn grammar in an accelerated and more intuitive way. By means of his method, he has brought many people from zero level English to fluency he in record time. His former students now enjoy successful careers all over the United States.
